RockstarINTEL reported on 17 February 2025 that a GTAForums user named IAmNotToniCipriani shared an unencrypted, partial collection of San Andreas source material. The publication distinguished this release from earlier fakes and emphasized that the code was incomplete.

Community analysis highlighted references to unfinished or removed systems, including traces of ragdoll physics and other development-era ideas. Those discoveries became the main editorial story: the material offered a fragmented look at how the game had evolved rather than a complete reconstruction of the shipped title.

Coverage also noted references associated with War Drum Studios, later known as Grove Street Games, and files dated around the period preceding the 2013 mobile release. Those details fueled speculation about provenance.

Why the handle became searchable

The San Andreas release followed two other highly visible archive events attached to the same account: a Liberty City Stories prototype and a Vice City pre-release build. That sequence compressed several notable stories into a few weeks and made the exact string IAmNotToniCipriani a recognizable reference in the GTA preservation community.

The account remained publicly active through 28 February 2025, when it posted a Manhunt style and level guide document, then largely disappeared. This page keeps a public record because I am trying to contact this person.
